Promote breastfeeding as the healthiest first food by implementing workplace lactation policies which include access to lactation accommodations.
Provide access to fresh, clean water throughout the day.
Work with health plans to improve reimbursement for providers for obesity prevention, diagnosis and treatment services.
Utilize the Hunger Vitals Sign screening tool to identify signs of food insecurity/hunger and refer families to appropriate food assistance programs.
Apply universal Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) screening in the pediatric clinic.
Participate in local coalitions or partnerships that aim to promote policy, systems, and environmental changes for active living and/or healthy eating.
Aim to achieve a “baby-friendly” designation to support breastfeeding efforts.
